Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our industrial valves.
What is the difference between PTFE, PFA, and FEP linings?
PTFE is the standard for chemical resistance with good temperature range. PFA offers higher purity and better mechanical properties at higher temperatures. FEP provides similar chemical resistance with slightly lower temperature capability but better flow characteristics during lining application. All three are suitable for aggressive chemical service.
When should I choose PP or PVDF over fluoropolymer linings?
PP (Polypropylene) is a cost-effective option for less aggressive chemicals at moderate temperatures (up to 80°C). PVDF offers excellent chemical resistance and higher temperature capability (up to 120°C) than PP, making it suitable for stronger acids and chlorinated environments. For the most aggressive chemicals at high temperatures, PTFE/PFA/FEP are recommended.
What actuation options are available?
Our valves are available with manual handwheel, lever operation, pneumatic actuators (double acting and spring return), and electric actuators. All actuation options can be integrated with positioners, limit switches, and solenoid valves for automated control systems.
What are the pressure and temperature ratings?
Pressure ratings depend on valve size and lining material. Standard pressure rating is PN10/16 (up to 16 bar). Temperature ranges: PTFE/PFA/FEP: -20°C to +180°C, PVDF: -20°C to +120°C, PP: 0°C to +80°C. Higher temperature options available upon request.
Are these valves suitable for sanitary applications?
Yes, we offer FDA-compliant versions with PTFE/PFA linings and polished stainless steel bodies for pharmaceutical, food, and beverage applications. Sanitary connections including tri-clamp, DIN, and SMS are available.
What is the typical lead time?
Standard valves with PTFE/PP/PVDF linings are typically available within 2-3 weeks. Special materials, custom configurations, or actuated valves may require 4-6 weeks. Contact our sales team for specific delivery timelines.
